Vintage Metal Dog Reading Book Trinket Box Art Deco Proper Food For Dogs

Absolutely charming vintage (probably antique) metal trinket box with a figural metal dog reading a book on the lid. The writing on the book reads "Proper Food For Dogs". Box measures 3" long, 2.25" long, and 1.5" tall - 3.25" tall at the dog's head. Metal lid fits tightly on the box. Metal book and dog are one piece of cast metal or cast iron, very heavy, held onto the lid of the box with four screws on the underside.
In Good to Fair vintage or antique condition. Some age related paint loss on both the dog and the box. There is some wear and bending in the metal lid where the heavy metal figural dog and book's screws have been re-tightened over time.  See photos for details.
