    Description

    PAIR EARLY FRENCH BRONZE CHILDREN WITH A CAT BIRDS AND DOGS
    This is a original pair of pre 1900 bronze castings of a boy and girl. They are 11 inches high and 5 across the base. It looks like one time the were mounted on some kind of base. There are two sets of numbers on the underside. One is the old French style black ink number. The girl has a cat on her back that is trying to get at the bird nest in her arms. The boy is holding a puppy while a bigger dog has tugged his toga to the side exposing his manhood. They have a a nice original deep brown patina that is in very good condition for the age and is darker than our photos. There is a slight dent in the side of the base of the boy. They are unsigned as are a lot of the good quality older French bronzes.
