Antique Morimura Brothers Bisque Dolly Face Doll, Circa 1917 Original Clothing

You are bidding on a bisque headed doll on a composition all articulated body. The doll was distributed by the Morimura Brothers in New York. The imported bisque dolls from Japan to supplement the doll market during WWI. The doll is 21 inches tall. It has sleeping blue glass eyes and an open mouth with 4 teeth. The doll has all original clothing and underwear, including shoes and sock. The wig might be a replacement but is made very similar to wigs of that period. It is marked with the Morimura Brothers Logo and Japan.
The doll is in excellent, clean condition. The head has no breaks, cracks, nor chips. The body is also in excellent condition with original paint and varnish. There are many black lines on the torso which I believe are caused by a doll stand being attached and removed many times. One shoe is missing its sole.
These dolls are not common and this is a very nice example. They were more often baby dolls. Some collectors might be interested in this doll to use the clothing for one of their rare German Character dolls.
