Description
19th CENTURY TWO LARGE PORCELAIN STATUETTE OF GREYHOUNDSA pair of English Staffordshire porcelain models of greyhounds or whippets shown seated
on their haunches facing left and right,
in stately fashion, each with the recently captured hare hanging from a tree stump. Each with a little tuft of grass in front of their paws.
Decorated 'in the round' and
painted with iron-red coats and gilt collars, on bright oval gilt-line bases.
Vent hole to the underside.
Overall excellent condition with minor chips (see pictures).
Victorian, circa 1860
Dimensions:
H 21.5cm - L12cm each
The large-scale size is rare in this breed.
